Got questions? Don't worry, we've got answers! To help you prepare for your week-long adventure at Billie Bear, we've put together a handy list of commonly asked questions. Whether you're curious about what to bring, how to make the most of your stay, or anything in between, our FAQ section has got you covered.
What time can I start my Billie Bear adventure on check-in day?
Please plan to arrive at 4:00 p.m. on check-in day. Check out time is 10 a.m. on your day of departure. Just a heads-up, our cottage check-in and check-out times are super strict to make sure the cottages can be cleaned and ready for incoming guests. Late check-outs will be charged a $175 fee.
Can I cancel my reservation?!
We do not allow cancellations after May 1st. Full payment will be required unless we can fill your spot. We're flexible with payments; we accept Visa, MasterCard, cash, debit, and e-transfers.
Are pets allowed?
While we adore pets, Billie Bear is a pet-free zone. Service animals, however, are totally welcome! Just give us a heads-up and bring the necessary paperwork.
Is there WiFi at Billie Bear Resort?
You bet! We've got WiFi throughout the resort. Stay connected, share your epic Muskoka moments, and keep your loved ones in the loop while soaking up the Billie Bear magic.
What supplies will I find in my cottage?
Each cottage comes equipped with cookware, utensils, dishes, glasses, and cutlery. We've got you covered with toilet paper and soap too. But remember, you'll need to bring your own food wrap, napkins, and tissues.
Does Billie Bear Resort provide towels?
Pack your beach towels, and we'll take care of the rest! We provide kitchen and bath towels, sheets, and cozy blankets to keep you snug in your cottage.
Will I need a flashlight?
A flashlight is a brilliant idea for those evening adventures and just in case of emergencies. And speaking of evenings, we love to keep Muskoka’s skies starry, so we keep outdoor lighting to a minimum. Turn off porch lights and enjoy spectacular stargazing! We also provide small lanterns for use should a power failure occur.
What's the noise policy at Billie Bear Resort/Bella Lake?
We're all about making the most of every day you’re at Billie Bear resort! But after 11 p.m., we ask that the noise level drops to "conversation only" to respect everyone's enjoyment. If you're jamming to some tunes, headphones are a must at the beach. And please remember to keep the cottage music volume chill to keep the good vibes going. If noise in your vicinity persists after 11pm, please phone the staff at 705-635-1330 and ask the staff to deal with the situation.
Are there designated smoking spots?
For everyone's safety and comfort, smoking – whether cannabis, tobacco, or vaping – is prohibited in all cottages and buildings as well as on porches. This is a fire safety rule and a courtesy to the guests who follow you! Our beach and children’s play areas are also no smoking zones. You may smoke outside your cottage, but let’s keep it away from common spaces. As a courtesy to our property, please ensure that all cigarette butts are picked up and disposed of safely. Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and beautiful environment.
Can I feed the wildlife?
As cute as they are, let's keep the chipmunks and other critters on a natural diet. Leaving out food can invite some not-so-friendly critters like mice, raccoons, and even bears. To keep everyone safe, store food and your blue box inside overnight.
What should I do with my garbage when it’s full?
Trash and recycling should head to the garbage shed (next to the workshop at the parking lot). Need bags? Just ask at the office. We're big on recycling here, so please keep it clean with cardboard, glass, tin, plastic, Styrofoam, and paper.
Where do I park my car?
Please park in the parking lot after unloading or helping someone out. Keeping cars away from cottages helps keep children safe and lets everyone enjoy the open space.
Are campfires allowed?
Campfires are a big yes, but only at the fire pit adjacent to the main beach. An adult must supervise at all times, and please make sure that fire is out before you call it a night.
Where can I clean my fresh Bella Lake catch?
Head to the designated fish-cleaning table to clean your catch. Please avoid the shore and your cottage (inviting unwanted guests). Remember to bag up those fish guts before tossing them in the proper bin at the garbage shed.
Can I leave food and condiments for the next guest?
Before you wave goodbye, kindly wash up those dishes, clear out the fridge and freezer, and take your trash and recycling to the garbage shed.
